Back by popular demand (the last 3 classes sold out), this one-day, hands on course delivers comprehensive training in real-world color correction using theory & practical techniques, including scene-to-scene color matching and correcting for broadcast specifications. You will experience Final Cut Pro Studio 2, the Color interface as well as utilizing the Three Way Color corrector and a few color-centric plugins.

The Color Correction Workshop is a hands-on workshop geared to the intermediate - advanced Final Cut Pro Studio user looking for that jump-start with this exciting new capability.

Sat June 28th Color Correction for the Filmmaker

Learn the how and why of effective color correction. Discover why you want to apply a color pallet and set the camera up before you ever get into post, and then... learn to color correct in post to get the vision YOU want.

Workshop focused using Final Cut Pro Studio 2, and the new Color color correction tool, we'll also take a peek at the 3rd-party Colorista plug-in with hands-on real-world footage as examples.
participation is limited to 10 students for this all day workshop. Attendees will be working on their own workstation, along with the instructors for maximum effectiveness.

Your Instructors

Patrick InhoferJaime

An accomplished editor and compositor with 17 years professional experience delivering high-quality programming for broadcast, image 6commercial and independent film clients. Patrick understands how to manage clients and technology to deliver high production value products on-time and on-budget.

Mr. Inhofer is a color correction artist working in NYC with his own facility known as fini.tv.

 

 

Jamie HitchingsJaime

Jamie’s visual interests stem from photography and fine art, but somewhere in the mid 90's she got bit by the editing bug. Soon, she found Final Cut Pro and their love affair is still going strong. She is an Apple certified Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro and Motion technician/teacher, as well as an Avid Certified Instructor. She also teaches Photoshop and After Effects.image 5

Jamie's body of personal work runs the gamut, from documentary, narrative, corporate, fine art video and all points in-between. She is proud to have assisted renowned artist Matthew Barney (The Cremaster Cycle), and currently edits pro-bono for UNICEF and the Anti Defamation League.

Jamie regularly works as an instructor for Apple at large trade-show presentations such as NAB and DV Expo. She holds a Masters Degree in Interactive Art and Emerging Technology from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, with an emphasis on video and sound.

The June '08 Color Correction Workshop is at Manhattan Edit Workshop, 80 Fifth Ave (at 14th Street) in computer lab #1501. Workshop is limited to 20 students. Closest trains are the 6 and F/V at 14th Street, A/C/E at 14th/8th Ave and the Q/N/R 4/5/6 and L trains at Union Square.
